Fava Bean Hummus

Fava Beans are the garden’s spring gift. This is a delicious introductory recipe to Fava Beans. You get the classic hummus flavors with the bright pop from the Favas.

Ingredients

  • 9 oz cooked and blanched Christine’s Garden Fava Beans, about 2 pounds fresh (check out our Instagram to see how to do this, or look here: https://honest-food.net/fresh-fava-beans/ )

  • 1 15 oz can of garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed

  • 2/3 cup of tahini

  • 4 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 4 tbsp cold water

  • 2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1.5 tsp salt

  • juice of 2 Christine’s Garden Meyer Lemons

  • 4-6 cloves of garlic

  • blender or food processor

Directions

  1. To your blender or food processor, add the tahini, water, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and cumin.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add Fava Beans and garbanzo beans to the blender.
  4. Blend until smooth.
  5. Transfer to a storage container or serving bowl. Garnish with extra fresh Fava Beans, a drizzle of olive oil, and more cumin.
  6. Enjoy!
